Tile is unforgiving. A floor that isn't flat, a shower pan that isn't pitched, or a layout that puts a sliver cut in the most visible corner — those mistakes are permanent, and no amount of grout hides them.
We have been setting tile on Long Island for 16 years. That means we spend real time on what happens before the first tile goes down — flattening the substrate, waterproofing wet areas properly, and dry-laying the layout so the cuts fall where nobody looks.

Floors
Porcelain, ceramic and natural stone in standard, large-format and herringbone layouts. We flatten and prime the substrate first so the finished floor has no lippage underfoot.
Showers & wet areas
Full waterproofing membrane, correctly pitched pans, sealed corners and niches built into the framing — not glued on after the fact.
Backsplashes
Subway, mosaic, zellige and slab backsplashes cut around outlets and cabinetry so the pattern reads clean across the whole run.
Marble & slab work
Book-matched marble walls and large slab panels, with vein alignment planned before a single sheet is cut.
Wood & laminate flooring
Hardwood, engineered and laminate installation with proper acclimation, moisture barriers and expansion gaps.

Measure & layout
We measure the room, check it for square, and dry-lay the pattern so you can see where the cuts land before we commit.

Substrate prep
Old material out, subfloor flattened and reinforced, backer board or membrane installed. This is where most tile jobs are won or lost.

Setting
Tile set with the right mortar for the material, back-buttered where needed, and levelled piece by piece.
- 04
Grout, seal & clean
Grout colour matched with you, joints sealed, haze removed and the site left broom-clean.

A typical room takes two to four working days: one for demolition and substrate prep, one to two for setting, and one for grout and cleanup. Large-format tile or an out-of-level subfloor adds time, and we tell you that up front rather than discovering it mid-job.
Do I need to remove the old floor first?
Usually yes. Tiling over an existing floor raises the height at doorways and transitions, and it hides any movement or damage underneath. We assess it during the estimate and tell you honestly whether a tear-out is necessary.
Do you waterproof showers?
Always. Every shower we build gets a continuous waterproofing membrane over the pan, curb and walls before any tile is set. Tile and grout are not waterproof on their own — the membrane behind them is what keeps water out of your framing.
Can you match tile to an existing room?
Often, yes — we'll bring samples and compare them on site in your own lighting. If the original tile is discontinued we'll show you the closest current options and where a clean transition line would look intentional rather than patched.
